Some dry facts

In 1996, obtained my Master’s degree in translation and interpreting (English and Spanish) at the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University Bratislava. Over the last 20 years, I have translated the books Aren’t They Lovely When They’re Asleep?, Confident Allies, two books by the great Christian thinker and writer C. S. Lewis The Screwtape Letters and The Great Divorce, a part of the Children’s Encyclopedia, and several of the Alive to the World Series — student textbooks and teacher’s manuals. Moreover, many other literary translations, including screenplays, e.g., the movie “Camp of Fallen Women” and too many TV series.

From 1999-2004 I produced and hosted a regular national radio show for young people, Frekvencia M.

I was one of the pioneers of homeschooling in Slovakia. I homeschooled my four daughters for ten years (2012-2021). From 2013-2017, I served as the Vice-President of the Home Education Association in Slovakia (Domáce vzdelávanie na Slovensku). I co-organized annual homeschooling events: the Home Education Conference, the Home Education Academy, and No Back to School creative workshop weekends. I carried out lecturing, promotion, and research activities in the field of education. My family and I served as the face of Slovak homeschooling for printed media.

In 2005-2015, I studied at the private art school of Mgr. Art. Soňa Herényiová-Belanová. I painted dozens of paintings, e.g. Silent Demise of Summer, Two Faces of Gothic, Burning Mountain, Music in the Clouds, Medjugorje, There is Always Time for a Nice Cup of Coffee, Abstractions 1 to 15, Renaissance in Picasso Disguise, A Fleeting Moment, Icon, The Tower of Babel in the Mind, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, etc.

In 2021, after I had finished homeschooling my daughters, I started pursuing painting full-time.

In October 2022, I attended my first international exhibition, the XXIVth Year of Premio Internationale d’Arte San Crispino. I was awarded a special award by the international jury, Premio Speciale Della Giuria.

Exploring my creativity and learning on the go, I am curious and expectant of what the future may bring. My dream is to bring joy and healing through my work. Moreover, I want to encourage others to pursue their dreams no matter the circumstances!
